Doctor Alexandra Chaux, DPT, received her Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from A.T. Still University in Mesa Arizona in 2010. Prior to That she graduated from Universidad Del Valle, in Cali, Colombia in 2001, with a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy.

Dr. Chaux brings a wide variety of techniques and modalities she has learned in Colombia as a Physical Therapist as well as the latest techniques learned in Spain, and the United States for over twenty years.

Dr. Alexandra is a student for life, always taking classes and learning the latest techniques in Physical Therapy. Recently she earned a certification in Cortical Field Re-education Level 1, Functional Visceral Mobilization, Certified Yoga Instructor, and Kinesiology Taping Practitioner Certification in California.

She is certified in the Abdominal Hypopressive Level 1 and 2 which offers many benefits for both men and women’s core strength and health. She went to Spain in January 2014 for several weeks to earn her certification from Doctor Marcel Caufriez himself, the creator of the Hypopressive Method.

Doctor Lulu rehab aide dog

Doctor Lulu, the blondy golden retriever is part of the staff team at Chaux Physical Therapy. She will greet you at the door with her favorite toy and walk with you to meet Dr. Chaux. Doctor Lulu is certified in kindness, good manners and compassion that is why she graduates with honors to become Doctor Lulu.

She knows about pain big time since she has been dealing with hip dysplasia all her life. She knows the importance of moving and keeping a healthy weight to preserve her hips for a longer time. She gets home massages and stretching sessions to prevent muscle tightness and joint stiffness. She is also a Cancer survivor. Last year her veterinarian found a maligned mass on her left thigh. She went through surgery right away to remove the fast growing cancer mass. Dr. Lulu was referred to a veterinarian oncologist who gave her two year to live. She has made great progress with changes in her diet. Now she has a personal chef. Doctor Alexandra who cooks for her antiinflammatory meals. She enjoys walking twice a day, lying in the sun, giving love to others, and playing with tennis balls. She is a happy dog who will make you smile.

Alexandra, an avid yoga practitioner, takes the time to make yoga accessible to her patients who are interested in an additional way of healing that complements her physical therapy techniques. 

Through her extensive international training in the Hypopressive Method, global postural re-education, yoga, and many conventional Physical Therapy techniques, she has developed manual skills where she combines physical therapy treatments, holistic healing, breathing techniques to create diverse and integrated approach to improved health and wellness.

Alexandra enjoys, cooking, reading, traveling, and hiking with her husband, her step daughter and their Golden Retriever Lulu.
